Canada Media Publisher and Author

Kumaran Nadesan is a communications leader, a storyteller, a publisher, and a commentator. He is the deputy publisher of 3 Magazine, launched in 2024 to engage individuals who look and live beyond our borders. He has a unique ability to weave narratives and stories that provide readers with different perspectives, whether the topic is trade policy, diplomatic relations or labour mobility.

Each month, Nadesan provides subscribers with his “Insights” which provide strategic analysis and reflections on topical issues. He does this with a clear editorial voice and a sound storytelling approach that has a clear narrative to guide readers on key policy questions.

Media Ventures – Publishing with Purpose in Canada

As Deputy Publisher of 3 Magazine, Nadesan helps lead a newsmagazine designed for those who live beyond borders and boundaries. The publication aims to connect global thinkers, cultural connectors, and next-generation leaders. Each edition features personalities who are shaping the future in sectors such as computing, architecture, food and medicine. This magazine showcases inclusive storytelling, cross-cultural dialogue, and big ideas.

This is not a magazine that follows headlines; it sets its own agenda to bring unique stories and voices to the forefront. Kumaran has also published an op-ed in 3 Magazine, recently writing about the G-7 gathering in Alberta and Canada-India Relations.

Books and Publications by Kumaran Nadesan

Nadesan is currently authoring a book titled The Impolite Canadian: Why Playing Nice Is Costing Us the Future, a Forbes publication set for 2026. In it, Kumaran offers a sharp critical analysis of Canada’s culture of quiet diplomacy and excessive politeness, arguing that national deference has become a barrier to innovation, leadership, and ambition. Drawing from his lived experience, the book urges Canadians must be more assertive and future-focused — and that leaders must lead with clarity and conviction.

His op-eds, insights and analysis have been featured in Canadian and international digital and print publications.

Thought Leadership and Editorial Voice

Through his biweekly “Insights” blog — which is combined and distributed in a monthly newsletter — Nadesan shares commentary on domestic and international policy. Through these pieces, he blends his analysis while providing possible policy solutions to complex issues. Some of these blogs have been republished as op-eds in print and digital publications across Canada and internationally.

Media Features and Public Speaking

As previously mentioned, Kumaran Nadesan’s work has been featured in various media outlets. In addition, he has spoken at events on topics including education, skills training, labour mobility, and Tamil economic prosperity.

He has appeared before Ontario’s Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs, providing expert insight on workforce development and training health professionals to meet the growing need in Ontario and beyond. As a trusted and leading voice within the Tamil Canadian community, Nadesan is frequently invited to speak both as a representative and advocate for the community. He also took part in a federal trade mission to Asia, to promote and foster closer trade relations between Canada and Asia.

Whether addressing parliamentary committees, forums, business audiences, or community gatherings, Nadesan brings clarity, enthusiasm and a unique perspective to every engagement.
